They are used to form the best hand combination. 2 cards are dealt face down to each player in Texas Holdem. 5 more cards are dealt face down on the table. They are called community cards. When the cards are dealt players make bets and then the dealer turns up 3 community cards. Then there is one more betting round. Then the dealer turns up one more community card and players make bets. After the last betting round and the turn up of the last community card the hands of the players are compared. The winning combination can be formed from the two pocket cards and five community cards. The player with the strongest hand is the winner.
